I love how Diggy is just shitting on his older brother right now. I can almost hear Reverend Run's sigh of relief from here.... I'm rootin' for this kid.
Kid Cudi's pal, Chip Tha Ripper, is slowly making a name for himself. In the tradition of Big Sean, Kanye, Cudi himself, and the whole GOOD Music movement, Chip keeps it fresh as hell. This track is off his mixtape "The Cleveland Show".
BONUS: I dug up a freestyle where Chip goes in with a throwback flow. Nice.
Featuring the 1995 edition of the Bad Boy family... Puffy Daddy, Craig Mack, Faith Evans, Total, Lil Kim and the Notorious B.I.G.
Big Sean comes correct once again with another joint entitled "Okay" with GOOD Music family member GLC and homie Chip The Ripper. Vibe to it.

It's true. I feel like an old head when I complain about music today but then I remember I'm still in my 20's so I can't be that crazy. The age old debate has morphed into Lyrics vs. Flow vs. Money vs. Swag. At times I complain and at times I sing along to Souljaboy...go figure. When all is said and done, all points will be heard and considered but no one will ever be completely converted.
Attention Rapper (Yes YOU!): WATCH THIS AT LEAST TWO TIMES AND REALLY LISTEN.
I'm feeling lazy today so this one is a jack (words and all) from RadioPlanet.tv...
"In this classic RadioPlanet.tv exclusive from October 2002, an enthusiastic Kanye West eerily foretold his future to DJ Whoo Kid and dropped an acapella freestyle – before his fateful car accident! From not getting any publishing from The Blueprint, to his fashion style that everybody will one day copy, to his mother giving him an angel pendant for crashing his car the first time… it seems like Kanye predicted his own destiny! Ye also beams over his Rocafella chain and speaks on Jay-Z’s influence over fans, artists who go too hard in the studio and more!"
This is a pretty dope video of how the 45 King produced "Hard Knock Life" record came to be. The documentary is from Sweden. Kid Capri makes a cameo (if you've heard the story before then you know why).
The Olympic torch that is. Kardi was one of the lucky 12000 people to carry the Olympic torch 300 meters down the road on its way to my hometown of Vancouver. In fact, some old dude walked the torch down my street today at about 8 in the morning. The Olympics are 2 days away and there is no snow, but whatever, it's all about the (mens) hockey tournament anyways so I'm amped. Go Team Canada! Oh, and Flipout asked me to let everybody know he is REALLY looking forward to the 2 Man Luge. That's his sport.
With big annual sporting events piling up (Superbowl, Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Tiger's coming back) it's commercial season again. It's always dope to see companies pull out all the stops for these 30 second epics. It's only fitting that Sprite would grab Drizzy for their latest spot. Peep below for the BTS. (Sorry for the bootleg version above)
By now, you may or may not have heard that Swizz Beatz will be taking a serious step into the art world. An avid collector of Basquiats, Ernie Barnes, and Warhols, Swizz is now making the conscious effort to be a world renowned artist himself. Not a far cry from beat-making since that in itself is painting a picture with sound.
"I'm just givin line after line after line.. barcode."
Mos Def on the beat, directed by Creative Control.
The Queen of Hip-Hop was sighted at Raggamuffin 2010 in New Zealand. Been looking for official vids better quality but you get the idea. The world needs a Lauryn album.
